Marrakech is also known as Pearl of the South, Getaway to the South or the Red City and the Ochre City. It is located in Morocco at the foot of Atlas Mountains.
It was founded in 1062 by Youssef Ibn Tachfin, the first of Almoravides kings. Today, it is a big Berber metropolis.
In Jemna el Fna, at the heart of Marrakech, there are many storytellers, snake charmers and jugglers making this part of the city a giant outdoor theatre. Marrakech can be recognised from far away thanks to the Koutoubia minaret dominating the ramparts.
